Our Objectives

The Fondation maman Dion favors the development of self-esteem, a desire to succeed, and the blossoming of children. It encourages a thirst for knowledge in young people and to pursue their studies. Its fundamental objective is to have a positive impact on the life of these children and on society as a whole.

The Fondation maman Dion believes that by centering its efforts on the joy of studying and on encouragement, it will contribute to a reduction in the school drop-out rate in Quebec, one of the highest in the country.

The Fondation maman Dion’s objectives are:

• To support the studies of young people from underprivileged backgrounds by providing them with the necessary tools, thus instilling in them a pride in their return to school at the beginning of the academic year.
• To favor education as a means of improving health and employability.
• To fight against poverty and inequality in young people coming from low-income homes.
• To develop business partnerships with corporations and regions of several years duration thus increasing the level of aid the Foundation can bring to children.

To date, the Fondation maman Dion has, thanks to the support of its partners and patrons, given over $6,300,000 worth of school supplies and clothing to 14,330 children. This aid program is promoted in all of the province of Quebec’s 69 School Boards (of which 60 are francophone and 9 anglophone), that cover all 2347 schools at the elementary and secondary level.
